A 30-foot tall metal art sculpture could make its way into downtown Butler.
The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler is considering adding the large piece of art to the corner of Main and Cunningham streets.
The piece was constructed by accomplished local metal artist Bill Secunda of Butler. He creates massive metal sculptures using materials including thick steel plates, stainless steel, copper, bronze and carpenter’s nails. Some of his pieces are housed inside Ripley’s Museums.
The idea came from the nonprofit group Butler Downtown, who believes the sculpture could help bring people into the city.
