The Slippery Rock University football team improved to 3-0 on Saturday, as they beat visiting Lock Haven by a final of 33-7.
Quarterback Tanner Garry threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns, runningback Isiah Neely ran for 111 yards and one score for The Rock in the winning effort. Carnel Harley also finished with 76 yards on two receptions with one touchdown, and Tavarus Sample finished with a team high 12 tackles.
Senior defensive end Marcus Martin broke two Division II national records in the winning effort, as he now holds the records for career tackles for a loss (currently at 79.5) and career sacks (currently at 47.0). He is also six and a half sacks away from the all time NCAA sacks record for any division. Through three games in 2017, Martin has 13.5 tackles for a loss and six and a half sacks. Martin finished with three tackles for a loss and two sacks on Saturday.
