A section of Interstate 80 near Grove City was shut down for nine hours over the weekend following a crash involving two tractor trailers.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. on Saturday.
State police say a tractor trailer was traveling westbound on I-80 when the driver lost control, jackknifed and became disabled across both westbound lanes.
The driver got out of his truck after the crash.
Shortly after, a second tractor trailer was approaching the accident at a high speed and was unable to stop. The second truck crashed into the disabled truck, causing severe damage to both.
The impact of the collision also pushed the disabled truck into the first truck’s driver. The Connecticut man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.
A portion of I-80 was shut down while the scene was cleared.
