Thomas A. Cleary, 68, of Renfrew, devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at his home after a brief illness, Thursday October 12, 2017.
Born August 31, 1949 in Butler, he was a son of the late William and Margaret Rishel Cleary.
He graduated High School, had an Associates Degree in Metallurgy from Point Park and had worked for Vitro Glass for 40 years as a process engineer.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church and was a lector at St. Fidelis. He was an avid reader, had enjoyed bird watching and was a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Navy.
Surviving is his wife, Christine Thomson Cleary.
His 5 children: Benjamin and Angie Cleary, Rachel Cleary and Brian Franz, Nathaniel Cleary, Samuel Cleary and Daniel Cleary.
His siblings: Margaret (Rick), Joe (Carol), Jane, Patrick (Katie), Kevin, Francis, Germaine (Charles), Leo and Anastasia.
His sister-in-law, Debra (Brian).
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian. The Rev. Fred Cain, will officiate. Internment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home for a Prayer Service.
