Delene Marie Pannier Ford, age 76, of Connoquenessing Twp. in Renfrew, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, at VNA Inpatient, Butler.
Born June 23, 1941 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Wm. Howard and Helen Rose Marie Tinnemeyer Pannier.
She was a 1959 graduate of North Allegheny High School and a 1962 graduate of the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at AGH in Pittsburgh, then in 1964 worked at St John’s in Mars, 1970 changed employment to the Wexford House, and then retired from Evergreen Nursing Home in Harmony. She loved nursing and taking care of the elderly and will be remembered for “giving her love and goodness to others”.
She was a member of the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, member of the Portersville Steam Show Association, and a member of the International Harvester Collectors Club.
Delene was dedicated to the Connoquenessing Meals On Wheels program, where she was a cook and she served on the Board as a previous secretary. She volunteered for over 25 years at the Butler Farm Show.
She enjoyed collecting salt and peppers sets, crocheting and donating to the Caps for Kids program, nature walks with her husband, reading, playing the piano, and attending Tractor Shows all over the country. She loved being around people, and Her friends say “She left her light behind her”.
She is survived by her loving husband Edmund Burnell Ford, who she married February 27, 1965, her children Lisa (Jose) Velazquez of Newville, PA; Curtis (Kendra) Ford of Penn Hills, PA; Joshua (Melinda) Ford of Athens, OH; one granddaughter Christaunia Ford and one step granddaughter Diva; her sister Lynn (Buddy) Schoch of Butler, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Judy Ford, who passed away 1972.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. Addition viewing will be at the church on Friday, October 27, 2017, from 10am until time of service at 11am, in the White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, with Rev. Lee Dreyer, her pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in the White Oak Springs Church Cemetery.
