Two Neighborhood Pride Awards were given out at the Butler City Council meeting on Thursday.
The first award was presented to John and Melanie Dougherty for their home at 530 East Brady Street.
Also, Clark and Kathy Sawyer were recognized with a Commercial Pride Award for their business at 129 North Washington Street, Downtown Sounds. Musical instruction is taught to over 200 students from ages 3 to 91 at the studio.
A nomination application must be submitted to the four-person Neighborhood Pride Committee in order to be considered for an award. The purpose of the award is to recognize a residence or business in the city who has displayed obvious and abundant pride in their property.
