The Houston Astros defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in Game Seven to win Major League Baseball World Series. It was the first-ever Series title for their organization. Former Pittsburgh Pirate Charlie Morton closed out the game for the win. He allowed two hits and the Dodgers lone run over the final four innings of the game. Outfielder George Springer was named the Series MVP. He had five home runs over the seven games, tying a record set previously by Reggie Jackson and Chase Utley.
