Della E. Barber Bodema, 85, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 6, 2017 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 29, 1932 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late George Barber and the late Ila Bartley Barber Matuke.
Della was of the Protestant Faith. She worked as a Home Health Aide for several agencies and worked as a supervisor for Bobbie Brooks for several years. Della was a member of AARP and enjoyed reading, going to the movies and traveling. Jilly Jo and Lacey Lou, her Jack Russell’s, were the loves of her life. Della lovingly referred to them as her “granddaughters”.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Jo McDonald of Parker, PA., sister-in-law Virginia “Ginger” DiTullio, nephew, Fran Bodema whom she helped raise; special niece, Tracy Bowser Fallen and son-in-law Patrick McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Bodema, who passed away on November 4, 1991.
As per her wishes, there will be no public visitation of funeral services.
