Betty T. Groger, 88, of Butler, died Saturday afternoon, November 18, 2017, at the V.N.A. Inpatient Hospice.
Born February 12, 1929 in Conneaut Lake, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Merle Lauderman and Susan Elizabeth Hollenbeck Lauderman.
Betty was a homemaker a was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She enjoyed bowling and dancing and was a member of the Country Music and Dance Club of Butler, the Tristate Country Music Association and the Western Pennsylvania Country Music Association.
Surviving are her 3 daughters: Julia A. (Harry) Schmeider of Butler, Janet M. Groger of Butler and Joan E. (Joe) Wilson of West Sunbury.
6 grandchildren: Michelle Spahr, Tracey Belak, Sabrina Twentier, Travis Twentier, Charles Wilson and Matthew Wilson.
9 great grandchildren: Tyler, Cooper, Zachary, Marin, Dante, Lexis, Brad, Hayden and Grace.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Joseph Groger, whom she married July 19, 1947, he died February 2, 2017; also 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin Street, Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, Pastor, will officiate. Internment will follow in St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery.
The Womens Council of St. Peter will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Church to recite the Rosary.
