If you find yourself with too much deer meat, you can easily donate it to those in need.
The Hunters Sharing the Harvest Program is once again underway this year. It allows hunters to donate venison through meat processors to local food banks, churches and social services feeding programs. Every year, 200,000 meals are delivered to families in need.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has again made a $20,000 donation to the program that will allow hunters to contribute their meet for free, without having to pay for it to be processed.
