The latest contract negotiation session between the South Butler School Board and their teachers’ association was of a substantial length but the subject of the talks continues to be confidential.
According to Board solicitor Tom Breth, the two sides last met face to face Thursday, December 14th for about three hours.
At this stage of discussions, both sides agreed that the subject of this round of negotiations will not be made public. In the past, both the School Board and the teachers’ association have provided public updates on the content of talks. Topics of recent contention have been wages, healthcare, and post-employment benefits.
The next negotiation session has not yet been scheduled but the two sides will likely meet again in January. The district has been without a teacher contract for over three and a half years.
