A large number of people interested in improving the Butler area met Wednesday morning to figure out how best to work together.
Butler County Community College hosted the meeting and will serve as a convener and educator for the revitalization initiative. This initiative is part of a 2017 to 2022 strategic plan approved by the college’s Board of Trustees in June.
The purpose of the meeting was to create opportunities and conversations about collaboration between different organizations and municipal entities. The goal of the initiative is to begin revitalization efforts in downtown Butler and build momentum to make positive change in the community.
Over 80 public and private stakeholders attended the invitation-only gathering including State Senator Scott Hutchinson, Butler County Commissioners, Butler City Mayor-elect Ben Smith and other Council members, BC3 Trustees, business owners, and members of groups like the Butler Downtown Association.
