Jean J Borcz, age 88, of Forest Hills, formerly of Mt. Chestnut, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in MaGee Women’s Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh, following an illness.
Born December 14, 1929 in Lancaster Twp., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Aniela Kolano Borcz.
She retired from the Sunnyview Home, where she worked as a laundress. Previously she had worked at the former Boyer’s Market and her family’s former Borcz’s Grocery Store.
She belonged to the local Grange, and enjoyed embroidery and gardening.
She is survived by her daughter Christine (Robert) Metil of Squirrel Hill, granddaughter Andrea Metil of Cincinnati, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: George Ciesla, Mary Lehan, John Borcz, Andrew Borcz, and Joseph Borcz.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. A private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
