The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 5-1 last night to end a three-game road trip. But the Pens lost three more players to injury during the game. Brian Dumoulin, Carter Rowney and goaltender Tristan Jarry all left the ice and did not return. The Pens did see the return of defenseman Kris Letang and Justin Schultz from injury last night.
The Pens scored four goals in the second period. Phil Kessel scored his 17th goal of the season on a Penguins power play to open the scoring. Conor Sheary scored his 11th goal. All three players on the Pens fourth line scored goals as well. The Pens went 2-of-4 on the power play, while holding Philadelphia 0-for-4.
