Lola Lee Matheny Organ, age 85, of Prospect passed away Saturday evening, January 6, 2018, in Concordia at Fox Chapel following an illness.
Born August 31, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Guy Michael and Inez Mae Burnfield Matheny.
She was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect, where she was the former church secretary for 18 years.
In her early years, she was a secretary at the former Frazier Simplex Office in Washington, PA.
She enjoyed taking care of her family, and was a former volunteer delivery person for the Connoquenessing Meals On Wheels program.
She is survived by her loving children Leslie Dawn (Robert) Mortimer of Portersville, and Matthew (Jennifer Ekas) Organ of Butler; her grandchildren Shane R. (Kaity) Mortimer of Edinburg, Laia Dawn Mortimer of St Mary’s, Ohio, Lanae Ann Mortimer of Tallulah, Louisiana, Adrian Lee (Ashley) Organ of Evans City, Daniel (Patricia)Ekas of Butler, her great grandchildren Hunter and Colten Organ, and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David G. “Skip” Organ, who passed away February 17, 1999, her granddaughter Paige Organ, and four brothers Richard, Ralph, Kenneth, and Roger Matheny.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 3pm to 7pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
The funeral will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 11am in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Prospect, with her Pastor Rev. Gary Brown, officiating. Please meet at church.
Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
