Flu season is in full swing.
There have been about 250 confirmed cases in Butler County so far this season. And those are only the reported cases. Historically, the number of people that have the flu is way higher because many fight the infection from home and don’t seek medical care.
The Pennsylvania Heath Department said flu activity across the state is widespread, increasing sharply in the first week of the year.
Officials say the flu can be a nuisance to some and deadly to others. Doctors are still urging people to get the flu shot because even if it doesn’t prevent the flu, they say it could help reduce the severity of it if you do get it.
