Constance L. “Connie” “Hazel” McAlpine, age 69, of Callery, passed away on Thursday evening, February 1, 2018, in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 29, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James L. Geyer and Frances Pauba Geyer Shunk.
Connie had worked for 33 years at Three Rivers Ice Cream in Wexford and also had been a clerk for Con Yeager in Evans City.
She was a member of the Crestview Community Church and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Mars Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star-now the Zelienople Chapter #258 O.E.S. She also belonged to the quilters group at St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Evans City.
Surviving are a daughter, Marcia McAlpine (Mike) of Beaver, a son, Kenneth McAlpine (Kristen) of Callery, her grandchildren, Kyle “Jake” and Kelsey “Lucy”, a sister, Michelle Geyer-Brown (Roy) of Renfrew, two brothers, Brian and Wayne Geyer in West Virginia, two step-brothers, George Shunk (Janet) in Ohio and Michael Shunk in Florida, a sister-in-law, Nancy Painter of Zelienople and a brother-in-law, James McAlpine and her grandpuppy, Tobie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth I. McAlpine, who she married on June 29, 1968 and who died on June 21, 2013, by a brother, John Geyer and a step-sister, Donna Shunk.
Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Monday from 2-7 PM. Members of the Eastern Star will conduct a Star Service at 6:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Goossen, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Twp., PA. Memorials may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Rd, Renfrew, PA 16053.
