The Pittsburgh Pirates have added another potential left fielder who joins four others vying for the position in Spring Training. Bryce Brentz was acquired from the Boston Red Sox for cash Tuesday. The 29-year old outfielder spent all of the 2017 season at Triple-A Pawtucket. He appeared in 120 games and had 31 home runs. He has made brief appearances for the Red Sox at the major league level. Brentz will join Adam Frazier, Jordan Luplow, Daniel Nava and Sean Rodriguez as potential left-fielders. Following the Andrew McCutchen trade, Starling Marte moves to center field and Gregory Polanco remains in right.
