William T. Marlowe, 89, of Butler, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 19, 1928 in Pitcairn, PA, the son of the late William J. and Rachael (Smeltzer) Marlowe.
William was a member of White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and trustee. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. He loved camping with his family and Christmases in his basement with the family.
Surviving are his son, William T. Jr. (Maggie) Marlowe of Harmony; 3 daughters, Kathy Buerkle of Butler, Diane (Regis) Kemper of Prospect and Wendy (Dave) Hazlet of West Sunbury; daughter-in-law, Robin Marlowe of Bruin; 23 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (George) Walker of Grove City and Donna Grossman of Slippery Rock; sister-in-law, Lynn Marlowe of Titusville; several nieces, nephews and four special nieces who came to see him faithfully.
He was also preceded in death by his wife whom he married on December 11, 1948, Edith Mae Marlowe, who passed away on December 11, 2010 on their 62nd wedding anniversary, a son, Terry L. Marlowe and 2 brothers.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8PM.
Services will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, February 23, 2018, at 1PM with his pastor, Lee Dreyer officiating.
Interment in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
