The search for the next president of Slippery Rock University is nearly complete as two candidates will move on to final interviews.
William Behre, provost at Georgian Court University in New Jersey, and Rodney Hanley, provost and vice president of academic affairs at Fisk University in Tennessee passed a vote of the SRU Council of Trustees. Both candidates, along with three other finalists visited the SRU campus last week.
The previous presidential search ended in October of last year when neither of the two finalists chosen by the search committee received approval from the SRU Council of Trustees. The next step in this process is that each finalist will interview with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors on March 5th. That group will then select the next president of Slippery Rock University.
Philip Way has been serving in the role of interim president since last July when former President Dr. Cheryl Norton retired.
