College Basketball:
–The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team had their season ended following a 77-70 loss at Gannon last night in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference quarterfinals. The Rock end the year 21-9. Gannon moves on to the PSAC Final Four. Micah Till closed an electrifying first year at Slippery Rock with a game-high 27 points and 10 rebounds for his 22nd double-double of the year. His game totals brought his season numbers to 640 points, the third most in a single-season in SRU history, and 361 rebounds, the most in SRU history. Till is the only player in the country with more than 600 points and 350 rebounds in Division I or Division II this year.
–Pitt lost to Notre Dame 73-56 to complete a winless season in the ACC. The Panthers lost all 18 of their conference games.
–Duquesne snapped a six-game losing streak with a 76-69 victory over Saint Louis at the Palumbo Center last night. The Dukes are now 16-14 overall, and 7-10 in the Atlantic-10 with one regular-season game remaining.
–Robert Morris defeated Mount Saint Mary’s 60-56 last night in the Northeast Conference Tournament quarterfinals. The Colonials will travel to meet NEC regular-season champion Wagner Saturday in the semifinals.
