Douglas Dean Maley, 34, of Butler, passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Douglas was born in Butler on May 19, 1983. He was the son of Ronald and Vickie White Maley of Chicora.
Doug was a 2001 graduate of Karns City Area High School. He earned an Associate Degree in Computer and Network Systems Technology with a certificate in Network Security and Computer Forensics from Pittsburgh Technical Institute. He was employed as the director of Information Technology at Lifesteps Inc. in Butler.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Butler, The Loyal Order of the Moose in Chicora, and the Clarion County Campers. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing, and taking trips to Gettysburg. He enjoyed spending time with his little girl. Family “fun time” with Daddy will always be his daughter’s favorite memory.
In addition to his parents, Doug is survived by his wife, Amanda Conner Maley, whom he married in East Brady on August 25, 2007. Also surviving is a daughter, Lydia M. Maley, at home; two sisters, Angela Maley and Jessica Cartwright and her husband, Scott; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Helen Buzzard Maley; his nephews, Parker Maley and Liam Hotkowski; his nieces, Jozie and Olivia Cartwright, and Gabrielle Hallwirth; his aunts and uncles, Joe and Lori Belfield, Bill and JoAnn Snyder, and Harry Dolby; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joanne Conner and Randy Wagner; his father-in-law, Bryan Conner; a sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Leo Hotkowski; his godmother, Stacy Slater, as well as a number of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dean and Doris White, and an aunt, Linda Dolby.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora Fenelton Rd., Chicora, from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 – 3 and 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday from St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, address, Butler with the Rev. Matt McClain, church pastor, officiating. The Loyal Order of the Moose will conduct a memorial service for their departed brother Thursday at 7:00 p.m. from the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made payable to St. Wendelin Catholic School, 211 St. Wendelin Rd., Butler, PA 16002 with designation: Lydia M. Maley tuition fund on memo.
