Martha M. Barto, 94, of Butler, PA, passed away on March 16, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born June 11, 1923 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania to the late Harvey R. Wagner and the late Bessie M. Flinner Wagner.
Martha was a member of St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church, #117 American Legion Auxiliary, a former member of the Butler Farm Show, and a former member of the Butler Fair. She enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by her five sons, Richard Barto and his wife Denise of Charleston, SC, Kenneth Barto and his wife Linnette of Butler, PA, Bill Lee Barto and his wife Joanna of Butler, PA, Donald Barto and his wife Kathy of Butler, PA, Daniel Barto and his wife Lisa of Butler, PA; one daughter, Nancy Jo Gilson and her husband Scott of Slippery Rock, PA; eleven grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Wagner and his wife Norma Jean of Butler, PA; one sister, Donna Lee Shogren and her husband Paul of Oakland, MD; and number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Richard Barto, who she married on February 22, 1941 and who passed away on January 11, 1996, two granddaughters, one infant grandson, one brother, and one infant sister.
Friends will be received Tuesday, March 20, 2018, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Merry H. Meloy of St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
