Sarah Marie Albert Woessner, age 95, of Prospect passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at Lowrie Place in Butler.
Born November 9, 1922 in Franklin Township, she was the daughter of the late William Luther and Eva Ola McCandless Albert.
She was a life time member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect, where she enjoyed making baptismal towels, baking communion bread, and taking care of memorial contributions.
She retired after 25 years as a teacher in the Slippery Rock Area School District, where she taught in the one room Dick Schoolhouse and finished her career at Prospect Elementary School. She was a member of the PSERS, Pa State Employees Retirement System.
She was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club. She belonged to the Women’s Club of Prospect, former 20th Century Club, and the Prospect Area Preservation Society.
Sarah enjoyed time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to travel with her husband in country and overseas. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and flowers.
She is survived by her children Karen (Ronald) Schnelle of Portersville, Patricia “Pat” Grossman of New London, WI, Warren (Maureen) Woessner of Virginia Beach, VA, and Clifford Woessner of Prospect, 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford L. Woessner, whom she married September 11, 1946 and who passed away November 1, 2007, son Frederick Woessner, grandson Warren Woessner, Jr, brother Dean Albert, son- in- law Ted Grossman, and daughter- in- law Pamela Woessner.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
Funeral service will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10am in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 143 Church Street, Prospect. Please meet at church.
Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
