You have one more day to file your taxes after the IRS website crashed yesterday.
The new tax deadline is tonight at midnight. No additional paperwork is needed to get the one-day extension.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin described the outage as a “high-volume technical issue.”
The site was back online late Tuesday. It’s unclear how many people were affected by the outage but last year, the IRS says about 5 million tax returns were filed on the final day of tax season.
