Margaret Ann “Peggy” Hillard, 81, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on May 21, 2018 at the Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 15, 1937 in Karns City, Pennsylvania to the late Cecil L. Gibson and the late Margaret M. Wagner Gibson.
Peggy was a 1955 graduate of Karn City Area High School. She worked in the Print Shop at Service Star for 22 years before retiring in 1996. Peggy was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed teaching. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and above all spending time her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ellen Beilstein and her husband Joseph of Butler, PA, and Michele A. Carlson and her husband Lee of Clifton Park, NY; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brothers, Dale Gibson and his wife Melba of Savannah, GA and Michael D. Gibson of Butler, PA; sister, Carolyn McElravy of Karns City, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Hillard, whom she married on October 25, 1956 and who passed away on April 25, 2012 ; daughter, Marcia K. Hillard; sister, Dawn Kepple; and grandchild, Adam Abubaker.
Per her wishes, there will be no Public Visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 200 East North Street Butler, PA, with Pastor Lee Carlson of Shenendehowa United Methodist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
