SSG(R) Dalton W. Morgan, 76, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 14, 1941 in Argentine, PA, the son of the late Edward and Rose (Stadnyk) Morgan.
Dalton was retired from the US Army after 21 years of service. He had worked at Pullman Standard and was activated with the National Guard on numerous occasions and finally retired from the Butler Veteran’s Hospital where he had been a cook. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty (Eppinger) Morgan; 2 daughters, Connie (Richard) Dixon of Butler and LTC Jessica (Michael) Whaley of Harker Heights, TX; a son, SFC(R) James (Ronda) Morgan of Wiesbaden, Germany; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Albert (Madelyn) Morgan of Connecticut and Curtis (Carol) Morgan of Karns City and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10 AM. Military honor at the funeral home following the blessing service by the VFW # 249 and the American Legions # 778 and #117.
Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
