Leonard Dean “Lennie” Ace 66, of Chicora, died Monday June 4 2018 in his family home after a long illness.
Born December 19, 1951 in Chicora, he was the son of the late Leonard and Jean Marie Fresh Ace.
Leonard graduated from Karns City High School in 1969. He later attended Butler County Community College to become a certified electrician. In the 1970’s he founded the Checkered Board Squares Square Dance Team which was competitive and exhibition. In the early 80’s he was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where he held the position of Scout Leader. Lennie was known as an outdoorsman to all who truly knew him. Regardless of the obstacles, he never missed a year of hunting and couldn’t resist fishing when given the chance. The title he enjoyed the most was Grandfather.
Leonard is survived by his daughter Amy Feher and her husband, Michael, of Rostraver Township; his sons Brian Ace of Belle Vernon, Frank Scott Ace and his wife, Jennifer, of Wilmerding, Glenn Ace and his wife, Erica, of White Oak. Also surviving, a daughter in law, Rhonda Ace, of Butler and 14 grandchildren.
Lennie is additionally survived by his wife Elizabeth (Campbell) Ace, a sister Darla Kobert and her husband, John, of Butler, a brother, Tom Ace, of Parker, a step brother, O.J. Roudebush, of Bruin, two step sisters, Tonya Rumbaugh and her husband, Alvin, of Chicora, and Peg Ball and her husband, James, of St. Joseph, Michigan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and step mother, Erma Roudebush Ace, Leonard was preceded in death by a son Michael.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, 128 Main St. Karns City, from 2-7pm Thursday. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home at 10am Friday with Church of God of Prophecy Bishop, Ronald E. Roudebush, officiating. Interment will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
