More homes, townhouses and apartments were built in Butler County in the last seven years than anywhere else in the state.
According to recently released figures by the U.S. Census Bureau, Butler’s housing construction grew by 6 percent between 2010 and 2017. In 2010, there was about 78,000 housing units, compared to about 83,000 in 2017.
The second-most growth in southwestern Pennsylvania was in Washington County, which saw a 3 percent growth.
