John E. “Jack” Farnen, 74, of Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at his residence.
He was born September 23, 1943 in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Henry John Farnen and the late Dorothy Johnston Farnen..
John was a veteran of the United States Army where he severed as Private First Class. He worked at Pullman Standard and retired from Armco after 35 years of service as a boiler house operator. John enjoyed racing stock cars at Lernerville Speedway, loved NASCAR, traveling and going to the casinos. He was a member of Connoquenessing United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Jody Farnen of Mechanicsville, VA, and Amy and her companion Eric Miner of Connoquenessing, PA; one grandson, Colton Miner; two grand-daughters, Amanda Rock,and Shelby Higgins; one sister. Jill Farnen of Slippery Rock, Pa and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Donna Lee Farnen, whom he married on May 21, 1965 and who passed away on September 21, 2017; two brothers Joseph and James Farnen, and also by one nephew, Rick Farnen.
Friends will be received Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 10 to 11 am at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 11:00 with Pastor Bonnie Rupp-Fisher of Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, officiating.
Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Devotion, Butler County Memorial Park.
