Bernadette “Tooty” Lokhaiser, 79, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the V.N.A. Inpatient Hospice.
Born in Weirton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Frances Van Jura.
Tooty was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years in Butler, first working at the Butler Hospital and then at the Butler VA Medical Center.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Tooty also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the V.N.A. Hospice Center and the Butler Health Clinic.
She is survived by her 3 children, James (Kimberly) Lokhaiser, Jr., John (Charlotte) Lokhaiser and Janice (Mark) Benninger.
5 loving grandchildren: Christopher and Tyler Benninger; Emily Lokhaiser; Katrina and Patrick Lokhaiser.
2 great grandchildren, Coali Bonus and Kaiya Lokhaiser.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Van Jura.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin Street, Butler. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be in Holy Souls Cemetery, Coraopolis, PA.
The Womens Council of St. Peter will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church to recite the Rosary.
