Butler Township’s new Director of Public Works is now on the job, but he has lots of experience with Butler County roadways.
Dave Meeder began managing Butler Township’s road crew last Friday. But before that, he was on Oakland Township’s road crew for over 12 years.
According to Meeder, it was time for him to move on to a new opportunity with a larger crew and more roads. Oakland Township has two full-time and three part time road workers, while Butler Township has 12 road crew employees.
Meeder does not anticipate needing to move where he lives since he is only 11 miles away from where he will be working in Butler Township, but there will be a bit of a transition.
“It will be a little bit of a transition,” he said in an interview Tuesday.
Meeder says he is looking forward to working with Butler Township Manager Tom Knights, as well as all of the guys at the road department.
