Joseph A. Baldauf, 87, of Butler passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at his residence.
He was born December 8, 1931 in Summit Township to the late Walter J. and Anna E. Glaser Baldauf.
Joseph was a fourth generation water well driller for the Walter Baldauf and Sons Water Well Drilling for many years. Following his retirement, he served as head maintenance for the family owned rental properties. He also partnered with his brother, Ralph in the excavating business for many years.
He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler where he served as a former member of the all male choir. During his younger years, he enjoyed playing the harmonica.
Joseph served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was known around the neighborhood children as Mr. Fix it man, he enjoyed repairing their little trinkets and toys.
Surviving are his sisters, Alice Baldauf of Butler, Joan (Alvin) Weigle of OH, Louise Baldauf of Butler and Ilene Baldauf Barnes of Waynesburg. PA.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Mary Ann, brothers, George and Ralph, sisters, Ruth and Donna Marie.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 5-8 pm Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am from St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. Butler, PA 16001.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice at 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.
The Women,s Council will meet at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 am Thursday to recite the Rosary.
