The National Weather Service Office in Pittsburgh is warning travel on Thursday could be tricky as temperatures plummet and rain transitions over to snow.
“Temperatures have quickly dropped behind a cold front, allowing rain to transition to snow. A quick coating to near an inch of snow is possible,” according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the NWS.
Forecasters say temperatures will continue to drop into the 20s throughout the day.
“This will allow the refreezing of water on surfaces, such as roads,” according to the statement.
You’re advised to use caution when traveling.
