Edna M. Cemate, 92, of New Wilmington, PA formerly of Hilliards and Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 5, 2019 at The Grove-NewWilimingation, PA.
She was born November 19, 1926 in Hilliards, Pennsylvania to the late Harry H. Turk and the late Maude E. Thompson Turk.
Mrs. Cemate was a homemaker. She was a member of Hilliards United Methodist Church, and also attended Community Alliance Church. She enjoyed music and could play the piano by ear. Mrs. Cemate was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her family, and being a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol E. Walker of New Wilmington, PA; three grandchildren, Rodrichard R. (Diane) Walker of Butler, PA, Shelly W. (Dan) Miller of New Wilmington, PA, and Scott J. (Angel) Walker of Volant, PA; seven grandchildren: Collin, Reese, Chance, Tagg, Beckett, Tennyson, and Landry; one step grandchild, Stephanie (Rob) Green; step great grandchildren, Navaeh and Amayah; one brother-in-law, Robert Cemate of Canton, MA; three sister-in-laws, Jennie Buccini of Grove City, PA, Rose Middendorf of Lincoln Park, MI, Mary Turk of Butler, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lunchion M. “Joe” Cemate, whom she married on August 3, 1946 and who passed away on November 27, 2005, three brothers, William Turk, Russell Turk, and Clair Turk, three sisters, Ruth Crow, Beatrice Steighner, and Florence Parenti. Edna was the last of her surviving immediate family.
Friends will be received at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 3 to 7 pm
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor Amy Worline of First Church of God,in Grove City, PA, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 North McKean Street, Butler, PA 16001.
