The Pittsburgh Steelers traded up in the first round of the NFL Draft last night to select Michigan inside linebacker Devin Bush. The Steelers sent their 20th pick overall, their second round pick tonight and a third round pick in 2020 to Denver for the 10th pick overall last night.
It was the biggest jump in a draft via a trade for the Steelers since 2003 when they jumped from the 27th pick to 16th to select Troy Polamalu. They jumped seven spots to get wide receiver Santonio Holmes in 2006.
Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray was selected first by the Arizona Cardinals, who also selected a quarterback in the first round last year. Murray was the 22nd Heisman Trophy winner selected top overall and second straight Oklahoma player taken first overall.
The NFL Draft continues tonight at 7pm in Nashville with rounds two and three. The Steelers have two picks in the third round. The remaining rounds will take place Saturday at noon.
