Attorney General Dave Sunday has provided more insight to an interruption to servers earlier this month.
According to Sunday, the interruption was caused by an outsider encrypting files in an attempt to force a payment from the Attorney General’s office.
The attempt failed and no payment was made. The office is now investigating the incident with other agencies.
Work is still being done to return to full services but active case work is being completed through alternative channels for the time being.
