Pennsylvania’s top law enforcement officer has joined the effort in calling for U.S. Justice Department to shut down offshore gambling.
Attorney General Dave Sunday was one of 50 state attorneys’ generals across the entire Untied States that called on U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to prevent offshore gambling.
The letter claims that not shutting down these illegal markets in the United States allow for “foreign gaming and gambling outlets [to] expose children to gambling, fail to protect consumers, and evade taxation responsibilities, potentially costing Pennsylvania tens of millions of dollars in tax income every year.”
The coalition believes over $4 billion in tax revenue is lost due to these offshore markets.
Action requested by the AGs for Bondi include, pursing current law enforcement, seizing online assets, and coordination with states and financial institutions.
