The Pennsylvania Department of Aging Secretary was in Butler County yesterday for a round table discussion and tour of the new facility.
Secretary Jason Kavulich was on hand to celebrate the early success of the Comprehensive Aging Performance Evaluation (CAPE).
Kavulich says the new CAPE system is intended to find systemic issues and address them with more information.
“We are looking at the data and information from CAPE and doing very strategic exercises to make sure we’re addressing unique issues at local county levels, and statewide systemic issues,” Kavulich said.
For Beth Herold, the Executive Director of the Butler County Area Agency on Aging, the completion of the new building was a long time coming.
“We have worked so hard over 10 years, talking with seniors and trying to get all of the resources in one spot. We’ve also been talking with staff to see what they need,” Herold said. “And look at all the seniors here. It gives me goosebumps.”
Seniors interested in services or want to see what services could be available for them can walk into the Duffy Road campus or call at (724) 282-3008.
