A court has ordered Allegheny County that they must undergo a property reassessment.
The court order follows a lawsuit by a homeowner in Churchill. Allegheny must now complete a countywide reassessment by 2032.
Butler County commissioners have also talked about the looming possibility for reassessment, which hasn’t happened in Butler since 1969.
A pair of lawmakers in Harrisburg say they plan on introducing legislation to mandate property reassessment for counties on a 10-year cycle.
