Andrew “Red” Nordberg, 35, of Butler sadly lost his battle with addiction on Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born at Balboa Naval Hospital in California on June 23, 1990, to Erika (Peters) and the late Phillip Nordberg. Red graduated from St. Stephens Academy in 2008; and was employed as a USMC Combat Engineer until 2012, then he began working as a general construction laborer. He was known for being intelligent, inquisitive and energetic. Red enjoyed reading, computers and video games; while he was at St. Stephens Academy he loved working in the horse barn. He leaves behind his mother, Erika Nordberg, and his long-time partner and friend, Lauretta Thurston; aunts and uncles, Sonya (Dan) Durkacs, Heather (Clint Weaver) Reynolds. Along with his father, Red was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walt and Joy Nordberg and Donal Peters and Katherine Fraser. All services were held privately through SPENCER D.
