The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins clinched a spot in the American Hockey League Eastern Conference final Saturday night following an 8-1 win over Springfield to take their best-of-five playoff series 3-2. It is their first conference final series since 2014. They are still seeking their first-ever AHL championship. The last time they reached the Calder Cup Final was 2008. The Baby Penguins will meet Toronto in their next series, which is a best-of-seven. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will have home ice advantage for the series.
