Hunters will take to Pennsylvania’s woods this weekend as bear archery season begins.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says that the statewide bear archery season runs from this Saturday through next (10/25) which is one week shorter than last year.
Data shows that hunters have a less than 2 percent of harvesting a bear in any given year.
Last year in Butler County there were 38 bears harvested, which was an increase of nine compared to 2023.
Overall, there were 2,642 bears harvested last year in Pennsylvania.
