Benjamin F. Bruno, Jr., 77, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born January 4, 1948, in Butler, the son of the late Benjamin Bruno, Sr. and Margaret (Torosi) Bruno.
Ben was a member of All Saints Parish – St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church. He graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in education and taught for several years. He later earned his RN degree from Butler County Community College and worked as a nurse in Florida until his retirement. Ben enjoyed trivia, reading, and watching classic television shows. He had a deep love for animals and took great joy in spoiling every cat and dog he met.
Surviving are his sister, Judith M. Wilson of Butler; three nieces, Robin Butler, Linda Bombara, and Peggy Rekich, all of Butler; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a nephew.
Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, December 12, from 10 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at 11 a.m., with Deacon Jim Shope officiating.
Private interment will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
