State health leaders say they are increasing COVID testing.
As the Omicron variant has led to a surge in cases across the state, some people are struggling to find quick access to testing.
Governor Tom Wolf says increased testing is an important tool during the pandemic.
“Testing is another important to help us track this disease to keep ourselves and families safe. Which is why the Department of Health has been hosting testing sites, in particularly hard hit rural areas,” Wolf said.
The testing push focuses on mobile testing sites, however Butler County has not had a clinic come to our area recently.
Butler Health System officials say their testing tent on Delwood Road is an easy place to receive a quick test. A doctor’s order is needed to get a test, but once a script is approved, you’re good to go to the tent anytime.
BHS officials say the turnaround time from test to result is about 24 hours right now.
