The Butler Blue Sox will continue their charitable fundraising campaign this year and have announced the beneficiary.
The Blue Sox Buck-a-Hit campaign awards one dollar to a charity with every Blue Sox hit during the season. The Butler County Humane Society has been chosen as the recipient of the funds.
The Butler County Humane Society is a non-profit organization that provides temporary, safe, no-kill shelters for adoptable dogs and cats. The Humane Society relies on support from the community as they do not receive any county tax funding.
Last year, close to $4,000 was raised with the Butler AM Rotary for the Kids Weekend Backpack Program. The Blue Sox are asking for help from local businesses and organizations to help contribute to their campaign which has raised a total of over $17,000 for local non-profits over the past five years.
