An administrator in the Butler Area School District is being honored with a regional award.
Vanessa Boyd, Principal at Broad Street Elementary School, has been recognized with this year’s Educational Partnership Principal of the Year Award.
Boyd was named a finalist for the award earlier in the spring as a principal who exemplifies excellence and fosters positive school culture. Votes for Boyd from community members helped with the selection process allowing her to receive this award.
Boyd recently completed her fifth year guiding Broad Street staff and scholars after Butler’s school board and administrators chose to reopen the school in the fall of 2021. Before that, Boyd had over two decades experience in education including as Community Schools Site Manager at Community Schools Pittsburgh Milliones University Prep 6-12.
