A Butler native and member of the U.S. Marine Corps is receiving recognition from U.S. Representative Mike Kelly.
In honor of being named the 2025 Military Times Marine of the Year earlier this week, Congressman Kelly presented Major Zachary Sessa with a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol.
The 33-year-old Sessa received the award after serving as the lead weapons and tactics instructor for Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 314 during its deployment last year aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
During that time, Sessa flew critical nighttime combat sorties against Houthi weapons storage facilities in Yemen following attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
