Butler Township continues to move forward with plans to finish the land development at the Pullman Business Park recreation property.
After hearing from Butler Township Manager Tom Knights at their Tuesday night meeting, the Township’s Planning Commission recommended approval of a plan that would see the creation of a support building at the rugby field as well as a large new parking lot.
The support building will look similar to the existing one at the soccer field but larger to fit four locker rooms, storage, restrooms, and concessions as well as roofed loft to allow access for cameras.
The new parking lot on the other side of the Picklegate bridge will have 220 spaces along with eight spaces for the large coach buses that many rugby teams use to travel to tournaments.
If this project receives final approval from the Butler Township Commissioners later this month, the paving and building construction could be put out to bid in April with work expected to be completed later this fall.
