The Butler Township Commissioners have approved a zoning change to allow a local business to expand into a residential area.
During a public hearing Monday night, commissioners heard from representatives of Farmer’s Mutual about a proposal to expand from 205 South Eberhart Road to the property next door (207) which the company recently purchased.
Since most of the approximately two-acre property was zoned Residential, a change to Commercial zoning is necessary to allow for moving parking or a small possible future expansion of what is now corporate offices.
The Butler Township Planning Commission previously recommended approval of this rezoning at their meeting earlier this month.
